Graduate and Professional Certificates
In the Department of Public and Environmental Wellness, we offer graduate certificates to advance knowledge and skills. Whether you are a post-baccalaureate or graduate student, or a working health professional, our certificates are designed for you.
Enhance your knowledge in developing and communicating program goals and objectives to stakeholders, and improving the efficiency and quality of health program delivery, with the Global and Population Health Services (GPHS) graduate certificate. This certificate can be taken independently or as part of Oakland’s MPH program.
With the graduate certificate in Health Equity (HE), expand your knowledge of the root causes of health inequities. You will be prepared to develop and implement strategic initiatives that diminish health disparities and foster equitable health. This certificate can be taken as part of OU’s MPH degree or separately.
Advance your knowledge of epidemiologic methods and gain experience in developing a robust research student design and conducting higher-level statistical analyses. With the graduate certificate in Epidemiological Research (EPI), you’ll take courses related to research, biostatistics and disease. This certificate can be taken independently or as part of the MPH program.
Take classes in advanced safety and health administration, risk assessment and loss control, accident and incident investigation/analysis, and more to become a leading expert in safety. The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Health and Safety Management prepares you to enter the field or expand your career opportunities without committing to a full graduate degree, although this certificate may also be applied to Oakland University’s Master of Science in Safety Management should you desire to continue your education.
