Veterans Support Services
With more than 40 faculty and staff members who are veterans themselves, Oakland University understands and supports the unique needs of student veterans returning to college life. Veterans Support Services provides a supportive and welcoming environment to more than 350 veterans, service members and their dependents. Whether on active duty, in the reserves, or entitled to Vocational Rehabilitation services, we are dedicated to ensuring veterans achieve their academic and personal goals. The Veterans Support Services office also provides:
- Information on using GI Bill® or other military service-related benefits
- Information about VA work-study opportunities
- Social and networking events for student veterans
- Referrals to other campus, community and state resources to student veteran specific questions
Currently Oakland University has two areas that support the needs of veterans, the Veterans Support Services office, and the Office of the Registrar.
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.
