Office of the Provost

As the chief academic officer of Oakland University, the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost leads and oversees the academic programs, research, and outreach activities of the institution’s faculty, staff and students.

As is evident in many ways, the University is in the midst of a historic era of growth. We’re seeing steady increases in student enrollment, introduction of new and vital academic programs, expansion and enhancement of campus infrastructure, and so much more.

As the campus community embraces the expanding mission and impact of Oakland University, the Office of the Provost is working to ensure that our growth represents far more than a matter of increasing in numbers and size. More important is our commitment to the quality, meaning and benefit of the experiences we provide each of our students.

With this in mind, the Office of the Provost works continuously with deans, department chairs, and other campus leaders to develop a transformative learning environment to prepare students for success in both professional endeavors and scholarship. Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to emerge as leaders in their fields in a diverse, interdisciplinary and global context.

Our academic and extracurricular programs are designed to inspire and to cultivate the lifelong exploration of a vast world of knowledge and experience. We also challenge students to realize the unlimited potential they possess to contribute to our culture and quality of life.

This office strives to provide students access to eminent scholars and educators and the means and support needed to remain focused on studies that will forge the foundation of rewarding adult lives.

We encourage you to let us know how we can help you join these efforts, better support the work you’re already doing, or more substantially benefit from the programs and services we offer.
