Oakland Center

The Oakland Center serves as the "living room" for campus, serving students, alumni, faculty, staff and guests of the University. The OC, as it is more commonly referred to, enhances the student experience, while embracing the diversity of everyone who visits, creating a sense of community on campus.

The OC is home to formal and informal gathering spaces, various University departments, the Pioneer Food Court and new for Fall 2018 Plum Market Kitchen featuring Zingerman's Coffee, the Oakland University Credit Union, and Barnes & Noble at Oakland University. Meetings and events serving groups from as small as a handful of people to upwards of 1,000 are hosted within the OC.

The recent expansion and renovation is now complete, and the Oakland Center welcomes students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the outside community to Oakland University.

Mission

The Oakland Center is a welcoming, inclusive environment offering services for Oakland University students, the campus community, and guests regionally, nationally and globally. As a center of activity, the Oakland Center provides gathering spaces, social opportunities, student learning and development, and lifelong memories.

Vision

The Oakland Center strives to be the preferred destination on campus and a recognized regional and national leader for premiere customer service, facility operations, events, and co-curricular environment.
