Looking for a meaningful way to get involved while making a real difference in your residential community? Community Council gives you the opportunity to build leadership skills, make lasting connections, and help create the community you want to live in. Whether you're passionate about planning events, advocating for your fellow residents, or simply looking for a way to become more engaged on campus, Community Council is a great place to start.

As a Community Council member, you'll:

• Plan engaging events that bring residents together and foster a welcoming, inclusive community.
• Advocate for your community by sharing resident ideas, feedback, and concerns with Housing staff.
• Develop leadership and professional skills through hands-on experience working alongside Housing staff and other student leaders.
• Build meaningful relationships with fellow students, professional staff, and campus partners.
• Make a lasting impact by helping shape the residential experience for current and future students.

Community Council is part of the Residence Life Association (RLA), the student government representing all students who live on campus. Representatives from each Community Council meet regularly with RLA to discuss campus-wide initiatives, address resident concerns, and collaborate on ways to enhance Housing and Dining. Your ideas and perspective can help influence positive changes across the residential community.

As a Community Council member, you'll also:

• Meet regularly with Housing staff and fellow Community Council members to discuss community needs and upcoming opportunities.
• Collaborate with RLA on signature campus traditions and initiatives, including Siblings Weekend, Halloweek, Midnight Breakfast, and other exciting events throughout the year.
• Gain valuable experience in teamwork, communication, event planning, and problem-solving that will benefit you long after your college experience.
• Represent your community and help create an environment where every resident feels welcome, supported, and connected.
