Michaele Tomrell has a BA in Secondary Education with a major in English from Cornerstone University. She also has a MA in English Language and Literature with an emphasis in Composition/Rhetoric from the University of Michigan-Flint. Tomrell enjoys getting to know and interacting with each of her students looking for ways to connect beyond the classroom. Her goal is to walk beside them each semester watching them grow and develop their strengths as writers.

Tomrell has taught in higher education since 2010 and has taught at OU since 2016. She enjoys helping students build upon the writing concepts they come to class already knowing and understanding. Tomrell believes each student has the ability to enhance their knowledge and skills in order to focus on being prepared for their future careers no matter which path they may take. In addition to presenting a variety of projects for students to explore and grow within, she focuses on meeting individually with students through the use of one on one conferences.
