Welcome to the International Students and Scholars Office!

The International Student and Scholars Office (ISSO) supports F-1 and J-1 students and scholars and their dependents throughout their time at OU. From admission through post-graduation employment, we are here to help make your time in the USA easier to navigate, so you can focus on making the most of all of the opportunities available at Oakland University.

Whether you are thinking of attending Oakland, or are a new or existing student, we would love to connect with you!  Here are some easy options on how to get in touch:

  • You can reach us at [email protected] for general questions or to schedule an appointment with an international adviser.
  • If you are on campus, you can meet with us without an appointment from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Thursday.
  • Get your questions answered at our online group advising, known as ISSO Shares, every Thursday from 1 - 2 p.m. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Here’s how: Mohammad came from Irbid, Jordan, to conduct research at Oakland University due to connections to the auto industry. His research, partnered with the auto industry, is centered around robotics and immersive technology. The goal is to use augmented reality tools to control industrial-sized robots for manufacturing.
