Leah Olajide

Leah Olajide is the Assistant Editor, Newsletter & Revenue Strategy at the Detroit Free Press, where she manages, curates, and writes across the publication's newsletter portfolio while analyzing audience analytics to drive subscriber growth.

A proud alumna of the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Wayne State University, Olajide holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and a Master's degree in Journalism. Her byline has appeared in a range of respected local outlets, including Model D Media, Outlier Media and BLAC Detroit Magazine. She has also lent her writing and newsletter expertise to mission-driven organizations such as the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her roots at the Free Press run deep, having first joined the newsroom as an intern.

Outside of work, Olajide is an avid reader, painter, baker, and traveler. She treasures time spent with her husband, son and dog. She also gives back to the next generation of communicators and journalists, lending her expertise as a panelist at career events for Oakland University.
