First Year Advising Center
The First Year Advising Center fosters exploration and growth as new students transition to college. We provide tailored services and connections to campus resources that empower students to define their educational goals and achieve academic success.
FYAC at-a-glance:
- Winter required appointments are happening now! All students must meet with their adviser before registration for the 2026-2027 academic year opens in late March. A hold will be placed on your account, and you will not be able to register or withdraw from any courses until this requirement is met.

Drop-ins will be available in-person at 101 North Foundation Hall or by phone at 248-370-3227 during the following days and times:
March 16 - 20: Priority Registration Students ONLY (Honors College, Veterans, DSS, Athletes)
March 23 - April 6: All FYAC Students
- Monday - Thursday: 9 am - 3 pm (check in by 3 pm)
- Friday: 9 am - 1 pm (check in by 1 pm)
These drop-ins can be used for completing required appointments and/or questions about registration.
