Welcome to the ESL Center!
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Center at Oakland University offers an intensive program to improve students' skills in English and to help each student reach his or her English language proficiency goals. The courses are designed to embrace the main areas of ESL education: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Courses are offered to meet the needs of all language proficiency levels: foundations, beginning, intermediate and advanced. Our courses are offered to international students, the general public, business professionals and their families.
Conversation Partner Form
If you are an ESL student or an academic student at Oakland University, consider participating in our Conversation Partner program. Native and non-native speakers of English are encouraged to join! When signing up, indicate the day and week that you are available and would be willing to meet to sit and chat with another Oakland University student. It is a great way to meet other students and to learn about other cultures while sharing a bit about your own culture, too.
