Paul Moote

Paul Moote, Chief Technology Officer at Rheinmetall, has been with the company since 2019 and currently leads Product Engineering across all programs. In this role, he oversees New Product Development initiatives and the implementation of Digital Engineering strategies enterprise‑wide.

With more than 36 years of combined experience in the defense and automotive industries, Paul has played a key leadership role in advancing Rheinmetall’s engineering organization. He has served as Chief Engineer for the XM30 Program and has guided the ongoing development of engineering capabilities across the enterprise.

Before joining Rheinmetall, Paul spent over 18 years at General Dynamics Land Systems, where he held positions of increasing responsibility across combat wheeled and tracked vehicle programs. As Engineering Manager, he led mechanical engineering teams supporting major programs including Abrams, Stryker, JLTV, FCS, GCV, JAB, and MPF. As Chief Engineer, he directed the clean‑sheet development and successful capture of the JLTV Technology Development Phase contract.

Earlier in his career, Paul spent eight years with Sachs Automotive of America, a German Tier‑1 supplier to the U.S. automotive industry, where he gained valuable experience in automotive product engineering and manufacturing.

Paul holds an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology from Central Michigan University.
