Photography Request

Photo shoots generally fall into three categories:

1. Special or newsworthy events, for which departments will need images for archival purposes.
2. Faculty or staff headshot sessions which fall outside the scope or timing of the free UCM bi-monthly headshot sessions, i.e. you require updated headshots for a full department or have other special requirements such as setting up a mobile studio on location.
3. Photography capture intended for features, publications, departmental assets or other projects. These photo shoots are typically art directed, with a UCM representative present at the shoot and are often identified during communications planning with UCM.

UCM will assign one of several pre-screened local photographers who offer competitive rates and are familiar with OU's policies and procedures. Photographers will have three business days to supply the link to the digital images. If you have a legitimate need to have the images available sooner than the standard turnaround time, please note this when requesting the shoot and we will attempt to make special accommodations with the photographer. Once the assignment is completed, the photographer will send an invoice to UCM, and your fund will be charged, with the expense appearing in Banner under account K053. The images will then be archived in UCM's digital asset management system and are property of the university.

UCM Headshot Session

UCM offers free headshots for all Oakland University employees. You can expect your high-res photo retouched and completed within 1 week after the photo shoot.

All headshots occur in the UCM Creative Media Studios, 111 Elliott Hall (not accessible from Elliott Hall). To access the studio please enter from the parking lot, Pawley Hall Door #7 from 10 a.m. until Noon, unless otherwise noted (allow 15 minutes for the process). A reminder notice will be sent out the week prior to the session with your assigned time.
