Theatre majors at Oakland University enjoy a highly collaborative atmosphere within the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. The hallways and classrooms are filled with actors, singers, dancers, designers, instrumentalists, and music educators, creating a rich environment where students gain a broad perspective on the performing arts while pursuing a mastery of their artistic disciplines. Distinguished faculty and professional performers also provide excellent teaching and personal mentoring for every student. Small class sizes allow more interaction and personal feedback from theatre faculty.

Students may also apply to spend the summer in Greece, through a four-week classical Greek theatre program that concludes with performances. For more information, visit the
International Education website.
One of the program's unique features is the presence of the professional
Meadow Brook Theatre on campus. Theatre students have opportunities to interact with Meadow Brook Theatre personnel in production and the classroom.

The theatre program's outreach into the community includes a spring children's show, which schedules special performances at local schools. Click
