Fitness Coordinator, University Recreation and Well-Being

Devon Mosquera brings an energetic blend of athletic training expertise, performance science, and a genuine love of movement to her role as Fitness Coordinator for University Recreation and Well-Being at Oakland University. With a career that spans collegiate athletics, performing arts medicine, orthopedic care, and national touring groups, she has built a reputation for helping people move better, feel stronger, and perform with confidence.

Devon holds a Master of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology (Athletic Training concentration) from the University of Florida, where she was the first Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer appointed to the School of Theatre and Dance’s Dancer Wellness Clinic. She also completed a biomechanics and manual therapy residency with UF Track & Field. Her early career included serving as a Resident Athletic Trainer with Miami University Athletics, supporting Division I field hockey and softball, and assisting with club sports.

Her professional experience is wide-ranging and high-impact: Sport-Specific Athletic Trainer and Performance Specialist with FAST Training in Troy, MI; Orthopedic Physician-Extender with Mercy Health in Cincinnati; Group Fitness Instructor and studio lead for SPENGA in Tennessee and Ohio; Head Athletic Trainer for both Drum Corps International and the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences; and Camp Manager and First Aid personnel for Varsity Spirit cheer and dance programs nationwide.

Devon is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in Michigan and holds certifications in dry needling, BLS, First Aid/CPR/AED instruction, and safeTALK. She is an active member of ACSM, MIRSA, NIRSA, NATA, and NSCA.

When she’s not coaching movement, you’ll find her working out, dancing, singing, cooking, attending concerts, exploring the outdoors with her dog, or spending time with family and friends.
