SAT

Oakland University has partnered with industry-leader Kaplan Test Prep to provide a research-based, comprehensive approach to helping students study for the SAT exam. Expert instructors engage students in a thorough review of the key content and test-taking skills and strategies they need for success on the SAT, and sessions emphasize critical thinking, close reading, problem solving, and data analysis skills. Full-length practice tests and an online study tool supplement the program to help students maximize performance on test day.

SAT Summer Camp

Summer 2024 Program

Join us for an intensive SAT workshop before the students go back to school! The workshop is also perfect for students looking to sit for the August exam.

Taught by two experienced, certified teachers, students will learn SAT specific strategies and review core content they will encounter on the exam. Students will be expected to take one practice test in the week prior to the first class session. Students will also receive a 3-book course pack. Detailed instructions will be sent out in a Welcome Email a week prior to the first class. An additional practice test will be taken mid-way through the course.

Times: 9am-12pm (8am-12pm on 8/14 for the second SAT Practice Test administration)

SAT School Partnerships

OU PACE has begun partnering with schools in Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties to offer discounted SAT prep courses. Programs take place at the home school, which allows for students to prep in a familiar, convenient location. 

Program Overview

  • Programs can be customized to meet individual school needs, but students will receive up to 21 hours of in-person instruction in addition to two fully-proctored practice tests.
  • Oakland University staff lead instruction and will work closely with school personnel to ensure program success.
  • Students receive a comprehensive course book and access to an online companion containing additional practice tests, quizzes and sample questions, and additional video instruction.

Section 31a At-Risk Program Description: Section 31a of the State School Aid Act provides funding to eligible Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and Public School Academies (PSAs) for the intent and purposes focused on the following student outcomes: attending school regularly, reading proficiently by the end of 3rd grade, being proficient in mathematics by the end of 8th grade, and being career and college ready by high school graduation.
