Get the skills to stay relevant in an ever-changing digital world! Oakland University PACE is excited to offer the Digital Marketing Pro Certificate in partnership with the Digital Marketing Institute. Students who complete the course and then pass the 3-hour exam will receive a Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing from DMI and also the Professional Certified Marketer (PCM) award from the American Marketing Association (AMA).

The Digital Marketing Certificate is a practical course designed to help you improve your knowledge of online digital marketing, strategy, and measurement. Program content is continuously updated which means you get cutting-edge digital marketing and soft skills, always. Learn Google Ads (PPC), Analytics, Facebook Ads, content marketing, SEO and more. Facilitated by experts from the field and Oakland University faculty, the program will ensure you've got the most up to date and relevant learning. You will not have to learn any coding; the DMI Pro course focuses on the commercial aspect of online marketing. This course consists of approximately 30-hours of video-based course content in addition to a multitude of other resources and study materials.

Upon completion of the course an Oakland University PACE Certificate of Attendance will be issued. Participants will also receive a voucher to take the DMI certifying exam at a Pearson Vue Testing Center.

Course Overview

Whether you're a beginner, business owner or marketing professional looking to boost your skills, this digital marketing course is for you. Delivered 100% online and on-demand, you can learn in your own time at a pace that suits you.

Course Structure, Cost, and Exam

The course is broken up into 10 main modules that cover the following topic areas:

  4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  5. Paid Search (PPC) Using Google Ads
  6. YouTube and Display Advertising
  7. Email Marketing

  9. Analytics Using Google Analytics 10. Digital Marketing Strategy

In addition, after the most recent yearly curriculum update, the following was added to the course content for 2021: 

  • 8 New soft skills including "The Art of Persuasion"
  • Improved UX and supporting content library

  • Added platform walkthroughs

Cost
The Digital Marketing Certificate program costs $1,350. This includes all digital marketing course materials and the examination fee (first attempt only). Students must complete the course in 6 months. Program cost also includes a 1 year Power Level Membership to DMI. Membership provides exclusive access to myDMI, an innovative 130,000+ member platform full of resources and additional digital marketing content. 

This course consists of 30-hours of lecture content. Average completion time is between 8-10 weeks.

Certifying Exam
To become certified through the DMI and AMA upon completion of Oakland University’s program, students must successfully pass one three-hour exam. Exams are administered through Pearson Vue testing centers, not at Oakland University, and must be scheduled separately. The initial examination fee is included in the course cost.

The exam is split into three sections. Candidates need to achieve a minimum of 60% to pass the exam. Your examination fee is included in the price but subsequent re-sits due to failed attempts will incur a fee of approximately $70 payable directly to Pearson Vue when you book your repeat attempt.
