Rationale:
To establish consistent standards for external links posted by MedSync-recognized OUWB student organizations to ensure that linked content supports MedSync’s purpose as a central platform for student communication, organizational information, committee reports, resources, and approved programs and activities.

Standard Practice Guidelines:
OUWB Student organizations and applicable personnel are responsible for the content of their MedSync webpages including but not limited to organizational profiles, announcements, event postings, documents, forms, and other related content.
Appropriate MedSync content may include:
- Organizational descriptions and contact information;
- Officer and representative information;
- Meeting announcements and approved events;
- Committee reports and updates;
- Educational and professional-development resources;
- Volunteer, service, and community-engagement opportunities;
- Student organization forms and documents;
- Official social-media accounts; and
- External resources related to the organization’s recognized purpose or activities.
MedSync may not be used to:
- Post unlawful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, defamatory, or fraudulent content;
- Disclose confidential, private, or protected information;
- Misrepresent the views of Oakland University, OUWB, a committee, or another organization;
- Publish committee information that has not been approved or authorized for distribution;
- Promote unrelated commercial activity or personal financial interests;
- Collect payments or personal information through an unauthorized platform;
- Post copyrighted material without authorization or an applicable legal basis;
- Share links that are deceptive, compromised, malicious, or unrelated to the organization’s activities;
- Conduct unauthorized political campaign activity on behalf of the institution or organization; or
- Use another individual’s account or provide posting credentials to an unauthorized person.
The inclusion of any information, including external links, on MedSync does not constitute endorsement of the external organization, website, materials, or content by Oakland University, Corewell Health, or OUWB.
