Undergraduate Offerings

Service learning courses reflect a symbiotic university-community partnership through which university students are provided an opportunity to gain real-world learning experience with direct supervision and feedback from their professors while simultaneously fulfilling a need in the community. We currently offer service learning courses at the Baldwin Community Center in Pontiac, where teachers gain valuable experience providing assessment-based reading instruction as part of the Center’s afterschool education program, and at Auburn Elementary, where teachers observe and practice reading instruction methods onsite at the school.
