Educator Certification
The Educator Certification Office offers guidance for standard certification program completers applying for their Michigan Standard teaching certificate, teachers renewing a certificate, as well as those adding teaching endorsements or Administrative or Central Office certification. Information regarding these options can be found below.
Highlights regarding Educator Certification:
- Oakland’s Education programs are aligned with the Michigan Department of Education’s Certification Structure of grade bands and teaching standards.
- At the elementary level we offer dual-endorsement programs in B-K and PK-3, or PK-3 and 3-6.
- At the secondary level we offer a Combined B.A. to M.A. program, or a MAT in Secondary Education with teachable majors in English Language Arts, Integrated Science, Mathematics and Social Studies.
- Oakland offers Music Education for K-12, and several Special Education options.
