Tanya Christ, Ph.D.

Tanya Christ is a Professor of Reading and Language Arts at Oakland University. She teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in literacy. Previously, she taught preschool and elementary school students in Buffalo and Brooklyn, New York.
Her research interests include the following:
- Early childhood vocabulary and comprehension in and out of digital contexts; and
- Teacher development, particularly the use of video for reflective practice, and the selection and integration of digital texts and tools and culturally relevant texts in literacy instruction.
