Teaching Associateships

There are several Teaching Associate positions available to well-qualified full-time students enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program. Teaching Associates receive a full tuition and fee award for up to 24 credits, and an additional stipend. These tuition awards and stipends are for the academic year (eight and a half months); additional support may be available during the summer. Teaching Associates are expected to complete a Master's degree program in two years and are typically assigned teaching responsibilities for one class in one semester and two classes in the other semester.

In addition to completing the standard admission forms, applicants for Teaching Associateships should also send a letter to the Graduate Coordinator which includes a statement of career goals and a description of any prior experiences which might help us assess potential teaching effectiveness. Applicants should possess excellent English language communicative skills; in particular, international students who have been appointed recently have had TOEFL scores of at least 600. For full consideration applications for the coming academic year should be completed by March 15; however, late applications will be considered if positions are still unfilled.
