Costs
The cost for each ESL class (4 CEUs) is $975. ESL programs are not covered by financial aid funding. Get more information on OU's Cost of Attendance used to determine financial aid eligibility.
Students Needing an F-1 Visa
Students seeking an F-1 visa are required by law to show proof of their ability to pay the following expenses. Oakland University issues a Certificate of Eligibility for an F-1 student visa (Form I-20) only to applicants with sufficient funding.

** Students must purchase health insurance through Oakland University. Do not purchase health insurance in your home country for your program at Oakland. There are very few conditions under which a student can waive Oakland health insurance. Please reach out to the International Students and Scholars Office for more information.

Students With another Visa Type
Students currently living in the United States with another visa do not need to submit financial proof on their application.
