Tech Tools, Labs and Rooms

Starting January 2022, the e-LIS suite will be used as classroom space while Varner Hall is under construction. Due to this, the following spaces will have limited availability until Varner Hall construction is complete. We’re currently only able to book space in the Media Lab and Course Evaluation Room. The other spaces are used for classroom space or storage. Contact our office at (248) 805-1625 for more information.

Educational Technology Tools

Media Lab

A multimedia room featuring both a Windows and Mac machine. Can be booked to record audio and/videos to create learning content. You can book the room by calling (248) 805-1625.

VR Lab

The Virtual Reality Lab includes an HTC Vive room scale system that uses Steam to access VR content. While one person is immersed in VR, others can view a live feed of the experience from the e-Learning Faculty Lab. Alternatively, you can have singular experiences to explore available VR educational content. You can book the room by completing the VR Lab/Lightboard Reservation Form.

Lightboard

The Lightboard can be used to create instructional videos for your online and face-to-face courses. Video and audio is recorded while you teach your lesson on the Lightboard, much like you would do on a marker board in class. You can book the Lightboard by completing the VR Lab/Lightboard Reservation Form.
