Galileo 3.0 Leadership, Voices and Advocacy — Elevating Educators’ Voices

Galileo 3.0 — Trusted Voices is an Oakland University initiative to collaboratively reframe the agenda for public education. As a nonpartisan advocacy group of educators, we are focused on building collaborative partnerships among teachers, administrators and policymakers to ensure every Michigan learner receives the highest quality of education. Our goal is to support our superintendents through collaborative advocacy and serve our policymakers by offering feedback on how education policy shapes Michigan schools, as well as the teaching profession.

Galileo Teacher Leadership Consortium — Founded on the belief that teacher leadership is essential to student learning and to the health of public education, the Galileo story begins with the regional work that predated the Institute itself. The Galileo Teacher Leadership Academy (a 29-district consortium) has been developing Southeast Michigan teacher leaders since 1997, and the Institute was later established at Oakland University in 2005 to build on the knowledge, skills and strategies refined through more than a decade of consortium learning.
