Welcome to the Oakland University ESL (English as a Second Language) Institute! The ESL Institute offers English language courses to local residents, small businesses, international employees, students, and their families. We help students develop their language skills and achieve their personal and professional goals with English learning tailored to their specific needs. Join the Golden Grizzlies and immerse yourself in an American university experience with student organizations, on-campus events, modern facilities, and a world-class education.

International Employers, Employees, Expatriates and Dependents

As a recognized international employer resource, the ESL Institute supports employee development and career advancement through our Intensive English Language and American Culture program (I-ACE). Employees can enroll individually or in a group through their company by visiting our Custom Programs page. Our American Workplace English course offers flexible in-person and online options to develop the necessary English speaking and listening skills busy professionals need.
