A head shot of Trina Scott

Native Detroiter Trina Govan Scott is passionate about creating an equitable workplace where team members can bring their authentic personalities to work. She is an organizational leader who is passionate about shaping a work environment grounded in collaboration and freedom of self- expression. Trina develops people-related strategies and infrastructure that foster a culture of inclusivity and diverse perspectives.

Trina is a proud alumna of Oakland University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in finance and competed on the women’s basketball team. She began her career in the health care industry by working for two Detroit-based hospitals before moving to New Jersey where she worked for a major pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

While with the pharmaceutical company, Trina led teams in over 10 countries that focused on risk assessment and analysis. She also worked and lived in Puerto Rico where she implemented compliance requirements for the company.

Trina leveraged her experiences in health care as a consultant for several years at one of the Big Four accounting firms and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. During her tenure at the firm, Trina transitioned into human resources and corporate social responsibility. She launched a youth mentor program that centered around college access and persistence in over 30 U.S. urban cities, which helped over 1,000 young people matriculate through college.

Trina joined Quicken Loans in 2017. As the first Chief Diversity Officer in a dedicated diversity and inclusion role, Trina developed and implemented the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy for 33,000 team members, spanning across eight business sectors for nearly 100 companies in four U.S. cities. In addition to building positive connections between the Rock Family of Companies and local communities, she is committed to attracting and engaging top talent. She has used talent acquisition resources to create a pipeline of candidates and has developed a robust network of team member resource groups to cultivate talent. As a member of the senior leadership team, Trina believes cultivating an inclusive environment along with attracting diverse candidates are business priorities and bottom-line imperatives.

She currently serves on the following boards: Mortgage Bankers Association Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Inforum, Oakland University Board of Trustees, Rocket Giving Fund and Midnight Golf Program.

Trina resides in Southfield, Michigan, with her husband, daughter and niece. She enjoys giving back to the community and spending free time with family and friends.
