Biography:
Jae Hyeung Kang is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management and Marketing at the Oakland University. He received his Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and Organizational Behavior from the George Washington University. He also earned an MBA at the University of Maryland after 3 years of consulting experience with Accenture. During his time as a change management consultant at Accenture, he worked on the generation and implementation of process innovation projects in a variety of companies and industries across South Korea. As a result of his work experience and, to some extent, his experience living in Korea during a changing economic period, he became very interested in the process of radical organizational change, and particularly the role of the human element of organizational change as a major determinant of its success. In addition, he had an experience of generating and implementing an entrepreneurial firm during his undergraduate studies. These practical experiences made him contemplate how to actualize innovation and how to achieve entrepreneurial success. As a result, he entered the GWU Ph.D. program to focus his efforts on the areas of Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship and strengthen his knowledge of and skills in management in general and the effective management of entrepreneurial firms in particular.

He published articles in well respected journals (e.g., Organization Science, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, the Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Management Inquiry, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, and International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal) and presented several research papers at conferences of internationally recognized associations, such as the Academy of Management (AOM), United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE), the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and the International Council for Small Business (ICSB).
