GrizzFIRE

Ignite Your Purpose. Spark Your Progress. Fuel Your Future.

Facilitated Intervention for Resilience in Education

This personalized program connects undergraduate students with an academic coach for intensive, ongoing support throughout one semester. As a student participant, you can work with your coach to:

  • develop a clear sense of your motivation and purpose for being in college
  • learn strategies that match how you learn best
  • make a study schedule that works with your life
  • identify or verify your course pathway to achieve your goals
  • connect to on-campus resources (like tutoring or counseling or career design)

Meetings are minimal over the semester and can be scheduled around a student’s availability. Typically a student is expected to attend three coaching sessions, have one academic adviser appointment, check out one new campus resource, and complete two forms – the Getting To Know You form at the beginning of the semester and a survey with reflection at the end. There is no financial cost to the student.

The program is offered each winter semester; seats are limited.

To express interest, students can send an email with the word "FIRE" in the Subject Line to [email protected] and may begin participation by completing the Getting To Know You form. Students will be notified by email in early January 2026 if they have secured a spot. Priority is given to first-year students on academic probation at the end of their first semester.
