Early Childhood

EC 6600 - Theories of Child Development and Education - 4 credits

Early childhood professionals are invited to register for EC 6600 as a stand-alone course for professional development. This is also the first course in the Master of Education in Early Childhood Education program.

Views of education are discussed from social, physical and cognitive perspectives. Analyzes diverse contemporary theories of early childhood and broader contemporary issues related to child development.

MI Required Reading Course

RDG 5210: Inquiry-Based Literacy Instruction

To meet the needs of the Michigan reading requirement, Oakland University offers RDG 5210 for 3 or 4 graduate credits. This course is offered all year round in a hybrid/partially-online format. RDG 5210 will also apply to certain graduate programs including the M.Ed. in Special Education.
