For over 65 years, OU Credit Union has been proud to serve the Golden Grizzly community. Our journey begins together in 1958 when Oakland University was established as Michigan State University, Oakland. A few years later, Oakland University was renamed and the credit Union Board of Directors approved the bylaws to include Oakland University employees as eligible to be members of the MSU employees credit union. And in 1967, the credit union purchased a trailer on Oakland campus to service members. It was out of this trailer. The credit union was available to support its OU members, and the process for a physical branch began. This was the start of our ongoing commitment. Today, OU Credit Union is a trusted partner in the lives of OU students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We believe in the power of financial education to transform lives through the Achieve Program, workshops and personalized resources. We help students gain the knowledge and confidence to manage their finances effectively by providing the tools to make informed financial decisions. We empower Golden Grizzlies to take control of their futures beyond the classroom. We invest in the success of students through career development opportunities. Our internship and mentorship programs offer valuable hands-on experience helping students develop skills and build connections that will shape their future careers. Giving back is at the heart of who we are.
