Secondary Teacher Education Program (Current Undergrad Students)

Oakland University's Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP) is open to undergraduate students pursuing an approved baccalaureate degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. STEP is also OU's undergraduate "certification only" option available to college graduates. Students interested in STEP should seek academic advising from the College of Arts and Sciences Advising Office until they reach the first education course, SED 300 Introduction to Secondary Education.

Faculty Adviser List - prospective STEP students should seek regular advising from the Faculty Adviser for their major and minor/endorsement

Secondary Teacher Education Program Timeline - for students majoring in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, English, or history

K-12 Modern Language Timeline - specific to students majoring in French, German or Spanish

Major/Minor (Endorsement) Course Requirements - access to a downloadable program plan for each STEP content area endorsement
