Saturday Series Math Camps
Held over the course of five Saturdays on the campus of Oakland University, courses focus on mathematics. Open to middle school, junior high and high school students. Equally important qualitative skills are taught including communication skills, networking, teamwork, resume writing, professional etiquette, and time and resource management.

Available courses are: 
Camps take place Saturdays: March 15th, 22nd, 29th, April 5th, and 12th from 9 a.m. - noon

K-12 STEM Camps
Open Introduction Camps: Engineering Exploration
One-week introduction camps for elementary, middle school, and high schools for students who do or might have an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics (STEM).
Dates
Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 12, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Monday, July 15 - Friday, July 18, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Monday, July 21 - Friday, August 1, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Focused Camps: Computer Science Exploration Week
One-week camps for 3rd - 12th grade students who have an interest in Computer Science. Upon registration, parents select elementary, middle or high school module.

Monday, July 28 - Friday, August 1, 8 a.m. -  3 p.m.

Focused Camps: Additive Manufacturing Camp
One-week camps for 3rd - 12th grade students. Upon registration, parents select elementary, middle or high school module.

One-week camps for 3rd - 12th grade students who have an interest in Conventional and Alternative Energy. Upon registration, parents select elementary, middle or high school module.

Macomb Engineering and Computer Science Summer Camp
Explore exciting and in-demand careers in the fields of industrial, systems, mechanical, computer and electrical engineering, and computer science. Students will also delve into the emerging fields of biomedical and alternative energy. Hands-on activities and simulations such as constructing a solar panel and building electronic motors and assemblies will engage students as they learn about career options in this growing field. Students will also travel to Oakland University's campus in Rochester for an extensive alternative energy tour and visit the Clean Energy Research Center.

Bioengineering and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program
Bioengineering and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program
One-week camps open to high school students only (9th - 12th grades) interested in biomedical sciences.
Dates
Weekdays from Wednesday, June 18 - Friday, June 27

The Bioengineering and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program (BEBSSP) is a week and a half long program around biomedical sciences and human anatomy for high school students who have expressed interest in medicine and careers in health sciences. The program is interactive in nature, allowing students to interact with sociomedical issues and the human body through technology, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences. Each student will get the opportunity to ask questions about form and function, common diseases and illnesses, and widely used diagnoses.

One-week intensive workshop for students who have completed their freshman, sophomore, or junior year of high school and want to explore the fields of engineering and computer science.

This is a pre-college camp experience for middle school students (entering 6th - 8th grades) who attend the charter schools that OU authorizes.

Oakland University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science is committed to introducing high school and pre-college students to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Resources. Thanks to this early introduction by passionate educators, students are guided to a pathway leading toward a successful education and career in the technological workforce.

SECS hosts outreach programs, both on and off campus, throughout the academic year and summer months. Faculty routinely visit high schools, junior highs, middle and elementary schools.

SECS CORE Tutoring and Resource Center

Struggling to be successful in an SECS CORE course? Tutoring (group and 1-on-1) available at our new Tutoring and Resource Center located in 114 DHE.

Tutoring available for the following courses:

  • EGR 240
  • EGR 250
  • EGR 260
  • EGR 280
Potential tutors: If you have been successful in a CORE course recently, like to help people and make some money doing it, please apply to be a tutor for any of the above courses that you have a proven track record in. Research shows that students that can actually teach others retain information at far higher rates than those who do not, so this experience has the benefit of information retention as well.
