For Faculty and Staff

There are numerous ways that OU faculty and staff can share their knowledge of The OU Pledge to support student success.

Become a Career Champion
Faculty and staff are invited to join the Career and Life Design Center for a Career Champion workshop, which is an interactive introduction to the Life Design model — a human-centered, design-thinking approach to career exploration. Career and Life Design Center staff help to create a common language around preparation and life design through updates, regular training and best practices sessions.

You can gain insight into the tools and resources available to support students and discover simple ways to integrate Life Design principles into your classroom or conversations, whether through small classroom activities, discussions or referrals to the Career and Life Design Center. You’ll walk away with design-inspired techniques to help students foster creative problem solving, resilience and empowered decision making. For more information, email [email protected].

Submit Courses to Committees
Faculty are encouraged to submit courses to OU’s Service Learning and Experiential Learning senate committees to apply for designation as a service-learning course.

Share Information in Class
Faculty also can share information about The OU Pledge in their class syllabi and emphasize/share experience-based learning opportunities with their students.

Celebrate Student Success
Departments can share stories and quotes about their students’ hands-on learning experiences via Axis TV slides, posters, social media posts, at tabling events and on the department website.
