Role on the board: Member of Philanthropy Committee

Why I joined the board: As a resident of Rochester, educator, and life-long learner, it is my honor to serve the Honors College at Oakland University. Once I completed my doctoral studies at Oakland, I wanted to continue my relationship with the University that provided so much to my educational journey by serving in some capacity. After being invited to join this board, I was thrilled at the opportunity! I too had a wonderful Honors College experience during my undergrad, albeit, at another University “down the road”. I joined this board because I am energized by the incredible Honors College program, dedicated students, and amazing alum!

Best HC memories: My favorite memories of being in an Honors College were the excellent mentors and professional relationships I made with professors. Being able to research, study and write about areas of interest made learning come alive and relevant for me as a young undergrad.

Other interests/affiliations:

  • Galileo Institute for Teacher Leadership, Oakland University, Advisory Board Member
  • Hiking and biking with my family at the many Rochester area parks
  • Camping in Northern Michigan
