Congratulations to the Fall 2020 Oakland University Graduates! There will be a University-wide virtual celebration on Saturday, December 19th at 10 a.m. on the OU YouTube page. Please join us!

Fall 2020 Commencement Program

Departmental celebrations, both synchronous and asynchronous, are listed below.

College of Arts and Sciences:  

Linguistics:

  • Details: The faculty and department chairs in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance will celebrate our graduating seniors on Friday, Dec. 18 at 5:30pm. Families are welcome! Contact Dr. Amy Tully with any questions. 

Graduate School 

Please join the OU Graduate School for a virtual “cameras on” celebration of our summer and fall graduates.

  • When: Saturday, December 19, 2020 --  1:00 - 2:00 pm EST  

  • Event Details: Brandy Randall, Dean of the Graduate School, will give a brief address. Participating students/alumni will have an opportunity to share something special about their time at Oakland as time permits. 

  • Suggested Attire: Consider wearing a hat of any variety (e.g., ski cap, mortar board, doctoral tam, sun hat, baseball hat, etc.)

School of Engineering and Computer Science

Our Commencement Celebration will take place on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 6 PM.  This virtual program will include parting words from the SECS dean and department chairs, slide show presentation featuring our graduates, and a full list of awards and honors received by graduating students. 

  • To attend, please  register for FREE tickets to receive updates and ZOOM log in information. Feel free to invite others to do the same!
  • All graduates are asked to send a personal photo that will be featured along with your name and degree during the presentation of names.  Please send it to [email protected] by no later than Wednesday, December 16, 2020.  Candid photos are welcome! 

School of Education and Human Services

  • Virtual event on Friday, December 18th from 7 - 7:45 p.m. Register for the event.
  • Participants attending will be mailed a packet of materials ahead of time and given the opportunity to submit a graduation selfie to James Silvestri. For more information, graduates are asked to email Anthony Gallina.
