Hot Water Repair Updates
Following precautionary pressurization of the university’s high-temperature hot water (HTHW) system over the holiday break, a new leak was identified due to temperature and pressure fluctuations. As a result, several buildings across campus are currently operating with limited heat. While the emergency campus closure will conclude as scheduled on Monday, December 1, the university will move forward with modified operations for the week as repairs continue.
For the week of Monday, December 1 through Friday, December 5, supervisors are encouraged to have staff in affected buildings work remotely to the extent possible. Supervisors in buildings with limited heat may need to adjust onsite staffing to support essential operations. Students should check directly with their instructors regarding class modality and location. Campus residents should watch for separate updates from University Housing. Faculty in buildings without heat should communicate directly with students regarding whether their courses will be held remotely or in an alternate location.
Campus community members with questions about the HTHW heat loss situation should call (248) 370-2100
