|First Year Advising Center
The First Year Advising Center assists Oakland University students who have not decided on a major, as well as students who would like to explore their options. The center provides free career counseling and major exploration services, in addition to academic advising services. Career assessments (tests) are used to identify personality characteristics, interests and values as they relate to potential major and career options. Career workshops, groups and special programs are also offered.

Career Services prepares students and alumni for lifelong career success. Our comprehensive services include individual career advising, resume critiques, mock interviews, electronic resources, career fairs, and career-related programs. |OU Counseling Center
Career testing and counseling helps identify potential careers and educational directions by clarifying abilities, interests, and personal needs. The full Career Testing package consists of 6 sessions with a counselor. During these sessions, several personality assessments, an interest inventory and various other measures will be completed. During the final session, the person will be given comprehensive verbal and written feedback. The OU Counseling Center offers this service to both students and the general public. |SEHS Counseling Center
The School of Education and Human Services Counseling Center is a no-cost service offering personal and career counseling to students and non-students. Services are provided through individual and group counseling for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Special groups, workshops and trainings are offered in such areas as career transition, parenting, men’s and women’s issues, and study skills for K-12 students.
