This interactive workshop will provide a historical and contemporary overview of race and racism in society and medicine. The following learning outcomes/objectives will be pursued.

Objectives:
  • Identify the history and systemic impact of race in society and medicine
  • Define race and racism and recognize how it impacts today's racial disparities
  • Reflect on their personal experiences with and understanding of race/racism
  • Examine strategies for addressing racism within their sphere of influence
