The Office of Public School Academies is proud to offer an annual, renewable, academic scholarship to incoming freshmen and currently enrolled students who are graduates of schools chartered by Oakland University. This scholarship serves to support various students in their pursuit of higher education.
Anyjah Kendricks is a former Dove Academy student now attending Oakland University as a recipient of the OUPSA scholarship. Anyjah Kendricks is an incoming freshman majoring in Early Childhood Education with a focus on Special Education. She attended Dove Academy from 6th grade to 8th grade, her years as a scholar of Dove have qualified her for this scholarship.
Kendricks credits the OUPSA Scholarship Award for significantly lowering her college tuition costs and allowing her to focus more on academics. “The PSA Award significantly reduced my tuition costs, allowing me to focus more on my academics and preparing for college rather than worrying about the expense of attending. Receiving this scholarship through Dove Academy makes it even more special, because it came from being part of my own community.”
As an incoming freshman, her piece of advice to others is to network, “I want to share a piece of advice I’ve received is to go out, network, and socialize with people. Build long lasting connections, not just for friendships but also for future jobs and career opportunities.” A fun fact about Anyjah is that she knew from a young age what she wanted to do with her life because of her strong love for children.
Anyjah’s expected graduation year is 2029.
