OU Swimming and Diving teammates named to U.S. roster for World University Games

Christian Bart and Susan LaGrand of Oakland University Swimming & Diving have been named to the United States roster for the World University Games

Christian Bart and Susan LaGrand of Oakland University Swimming & Diving have been named to the United States roster for the World University Games this summer in Chengdu, China.

The two are a part of the 32-person roster with student-athletes across notable programs throughout the United States including but not limited to Michigan, Stanford, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Princeton, and others.

Bart has been a part of several record-breaking performances, swimming in every meet this season on the men's side with 58 top-three finishes. The Grand Rapids native has five first-place finishes at the Horizon League Championships.

Bart raced in seven events at Horizon League Championships breaking several school and meet records.

He earned first place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard breaststroke, 400 yard medley relay, 100 yard freestyle, 400 yard freestyle relay, and second place in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

LaGrand made the NCAA Championships three times in her career, a program record by the graduate student who has garnered multiple Horizon League honors from the conference's championships.

LaGrand raced in seven events at Horizon League Championships, finishing first in all of them and setting school and conference records.

She earned first place finishes in the 200 yard medley relay, 800 yard freestyle relay, 200 yard IM, 400 yard IM, 400 yard medley relay, 200 yard backstroke, and 400 yard freestyle relay at Horizon League Championships

She was also named Horizon League Athlete of the Conference Championship Meet, Horizon League Swim and Dive Athlete of the Year, and named three time athlete of the week.
