Oakland University has established the Glenn McIntosh "Passion, Purpose and Perseverance" Leadership Award to recognize OU employees who demonstrate exceptional leadership in advancing student success, strengthening the campus community, and embodying the compassionate, principled leadership exemplified by the late Glenn McIntosh, senior vice president for Student Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer.

McIntosh served Oakland University for more than 30 years as a visionary leader known for his integrity, empathy, and unwavering commitment to students. His leadership was transformational and marked not by titles or authority, but by his ability to inspire, empower, and lift others to their highest potential. He was a “glue leader,” someone who built unity, fostered collaboration and guided the community forward through his example, wisdom and love for students.
