Registration by class standing for the Summer 2023, Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 semesters is now open.  Full-year registration allows students to register for an entire year’s worth of classes each March. OU has a knowledgeable staff ready to assist with questions related to registration, advising, financial services and other concerns. Students can keep moving toward their academic and professional goals by following these steps:

Meet with an academic adviser

Students are encouraged to meet with their academic adviser to ensure they are selecting the right classes to stay on track for graduation. Most students have an assigned adviser that they can directly reach out to via email.

Undergraduate students can log in to MySail and find their assigned academic adviser right on the home screen. Under the My Details section, click the blue Adviser link on the right-hand side. A box should pop up with the advising unit and/or adviser's name along with their contact information. Find more information at Find My Academic Adviser.

Graduate students should contact their academic department for advising assistance.

Register for classes

To register for classes, view the schedule of classes or learn about the registration process, including helpful tips and reminders, visit Web Registration.

For questions about registration, contact Registrar Services at (248) 370-3450 or [email protected].

Learn about financial aid and scholarships

If you haven't already completed your 2023-2024 FAFSA, it's not too late to fill it out online. Financial aid may also be available for the summer semester. In addition, Oakland has many opportunities for both merit- and need-based grants and scholarships.

If you are a high school senior graduating in 2023, or know someone who is, be sure to share the State of Michigan's new Michigan Achievement Scholarship opportunity. It is important to complete the FAFSA first in order to determine eligibility.

Whether you are a returning student to OU or thinking about attending in the future, Student Financial Services is here to help you with any financial aid or student account questions. We can be reached at (248) 370-2550 or [email protected]
