Oakland University is offering several opportunities to deal with mental health issues resulting from the shooting at Michigan State University and to show support for the Spartan community.
Students, faculty and staff feeling the strain of mental health are encouraged to contact The Oakland University Counseling Center in the Graham Health Center building Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5.p.m. The School of Education and Human Services also has counseling services available.
There is also a National Crisis Lifeline for people in distress. They can reach someone by dialing 988 at any time.
At today's Day of Kindness volunteer fair from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., OU will also have an MSU banner where students can write notes of support. The fair will be held in The Habitat.
Tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 16, Oakland University Student Congress, in collaboration with various student organizations, will lead a vigil honoring the MSU community. It will be held at noon in the Winter Garden of the Oakland Center. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
United together as students, staff, and faculty we are stronger and will support one another during this time.
