Prestigious organizations recognize OU’s School of Business Administration

Oakland University’s business programs rank among the top, earning recognition from respected organizations throughout the nation and around the world.

Recognizing continued academic excellence, a student-centered focus and affordability, Oakland University’s business programs earn recognition from esteemed organizations throughout the nation and around the world.

Since 1988, the School of Business has held elite accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). OU’s business school holds this prestigious accreditation in both its business and accounting programs, a distinction only five universities in Michigan can claim.

Additionally, The Princeton Review annual Best Business Schools report and U.S. News and World Report Best Graduate Schools edition regularly acknowledges the educational excellence available from an Oakland University business degree, specifically highlighting the MBA. While CEO Magazine’s MBA rankings names Oakland University’s MBA, Online MBA and Executive MBA programs among the best for students on its global and North American lists.

In a recent report, College Factual placed the OU School of Business in the top 15% of all colleges and universities in the country for business majors. In fact, College Factual reports that students who complete their bachelor’s or master’s business degree at Oakland earn $20,000 per year above the national average.

Departments and majors within the business program also earn accolades.

Oakland University’s Human Resource Management (HRM) program is certified by the National Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and recognized as a member of the SHRM Academic Alignment Program. In these programs students receive international networking and certification benefits. In recognition of OU’s exceptional HR studies, Study.com highlighted the program among the nation's top colleges and universities.

In the Finance major, OU students can take advantage of the program’s Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute University Affiliate Program designation, which includes programs that that embed a significant portion of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge into their curriculum. In addition to preparing students to sit for the CFA exams, the affiliation provides young professionals with a valuable career credential.

University HQ ranks Oakland University business programs among the best for finance, part-time MBA and hybrid MBA; and among the most affordable for human resources, finance, supply chain and operations management.

With a focus on affordability, Bachelor’s Degree Center names OU’s Actuarial Science program among the nations top 10 most affordable in 2022.
