The Oakland University Alumni Association has launched a new webinar series called OU Encore. This series, available to all OU alumni, brings the expertise of industry-leading professionals right to your home in an easily accessible virtual setting. New sessions are introduced every month and include a variety of topics, such as building empathy and compassion, leadership lessons from sports history and wellness strategies for working remotely.

“This is a huge value add for our OU alumni family,” says Erin Sudrovech, director of alumni engagement for Oakland University. “When we sent out our alumni survey this past spring, we received a lot of feedback about providing more resources for alumni around professional and career development, as well as educational enrichment. This is our answer to those requests, and I couldn’t be more excited.”

Whether you’re interested in improving your conflict management skills or want to take better photos with your smartphone, this new series has something for everyone. Three to four new sessions will be added each month and registration is free.

“OU alumni are lifelong learners and this series is just right for that,” says Mark Guthrie, chair of the OU Alumni Association board of directors. “It’s incredible content and, because it’s virtual, it’s available as a great resource for the more than 120,000 OU alumni worldwide.”
