OU Road Status Report

This site is designed to update Oakland University students, staff, faculty and visitors on major road construction projects and road closures that may interfere with commutes both on and off campus. Project reports are updated weekly based on information from the Michigan Department of Transportation. This is by no means a comprehensive report of construction occurring in Southeastern Michigan. Those commuting from areas outside the immediate vicinity of the OU campus should visit the MDOT lane closure reporting site to obtain more detailed information regarding their commute. Week of Monday, May 21, 2012

• Drivers should expect a right shoulder closure on westbound M-59 between Crooks Road and Adams Road through Monday, May 30, for sign installation.

• Eastbound and westbound Business Route US-24 between Sashabaw Road and Williams Lake Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, May 28, for a Memorial Day Parade. An alternate route is advised.

• Drivers should expect a single-lane closure on northbound Cesar Chavez from the Woodward Loop to Montcalm for construction through Wednesday, Oct. 31.

• All southbound lanes of Cesar Chavez from Montcalm to Woodward Loop will be closed for construction through Wednesday, Oct. 31. The advised detour is to take Cass Avenue to the Woodward Loop, the Woodward Loop to Huron Street, Huron Street back to the Woodward Loop and the Woodward Loop to northbound Cesar Chavez.

• The right turn lane of westbound Dixie Highway onto Sashabaw Road and the right through lane will be closed daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, May 25, to install underground cable. Detour information is posted.

(Rochester Road)

• Fourth Street at Rochester Road/Main Street in Rochester will be closed through Friday, July 20. Eastbound is detoured via Walnut Blvd, University Drive and Water Street. Westbound is detoured via Water Street, University Drive and Walnut Blvd. Alternate detours to the business corridor are also posted.

• Third Street at Rochester Road/Main Street in Rochester will be road is closed through Friday, July 20. Eastbound is detoured via Walnut Blvd, University Drive and Water Street. Westbound is detoured via Water Street, University Drive and Walnut Blvd. Alternate detours to the business corridor are also posted.

• There will be a full closure of northbound and southbound M-150 from 2nd Street to University Drive for road construction through Monday, Aug. 13.

(Lapeer Road)

• Northbound and southbound M-24 between East Street and Broadway Street will be closed from 10 a,m. to noon for the annual Memorial Day Parade. An alternate route is advised.

(Ortonville Road)

• Northbound and southbound M-15 between Northview and Waldon roads in will be closed from 10 a,m. to noon for the Memorial Day Parade. An alternate route is advised.

(Woodward Ave.)

• There will be an intermittent single-lane closure of northbound and southbound Woodward Avenue between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Boulevard from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily through Tuesday, July 31, for construction of a pedestrian bridge.

• Drivers should expect a single right-lane closure on M-1 (Woodward Loop) from North Saginaw Street to northbound Cesar Chavez for construction through Wednesday, Oct. 31
