IE suspect vehicleThe Oakland University Police Department (OUPD) is advising campus community members to be wary of an individual driving a dark-colored SUV – possibly a late model Chevy Equinox – and asking pedestrians he approaches for directions on campus.

During three separate indecent exposure incidents occurring on Sunday, September 10, and Monday, September 11, the suspect requested directions from individuals walking nearby. These individuals reported that upon approaching his vehicle to help, they noticed that the man had his penis exposed and was masturbating.

The OUPD has identified a suspect, but because the individual is not yet in custody, campus community members are advised not to approach anyone in a vehicle matching the description and asking for directions.

Anyone experiencing or witnessing such a request is asked to leave the area and contact the OUPD immediately at (248) 370-3331. Anyone who has already experienced such an incident and not reported it to the OUPD is asked to do so as soon as possible.

Campus Safety Information:

  • Anyone feeling unsafe while walking on campus can call OUPD and request a Safe Walk, in which OUPD personnel will watch those requesting this service get safely to their destinations.
