Adem Althor named executive director of global engagement

The Office of the Provost has named Adem Althor as the new Executive Director of the Office of Global Engagement. He started in his new role on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Adem has a wealth of knowledge and experience in international education, coming most recently from Northwood University where he has served as the Dean of International Affairs. Prior to this he worked at Saginaw Valley State University as an International Student Advisor, Assistant Director of International Admissions and the Interim Director of the Office of International Programs.

Adem has been a National Association of Foreign Student Advisers (NAFSA) member since 2014 and a Michigan Association of International Educators (MAIE) board member since 2019.
