Fiscal Year Equated Student (FYES) is a measure used frequently in higher education. In Michigan, it is computed based on student credit hour generation.

For undergraduates, 1 FYES equals 30 credit hours. For masters students, 1 FYES equals 24 credit hours. For Ph.D. students, 1 FYES = 16 credit hours. For medical students, 1 FYES is generated for each student enrolled for a full year.

Annual FYES totals are calculated at the end of each fiscal year, which starts on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the next year at OU. The chart above shows OU’s annual FYES totals for each of the last five years.
