New DeansThe Oakland University community are invited to join Michelle Piskculich, interim executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, as she interviews two academic deans who have recently joined the university.

Polly Boruff-Jones, dean of the University Libraries, was hired in April of this year and Brandy Randall, dean of the Graduate School was hired in July.

In video interviews, Piskulich will find out what makes these two women exciting and important additions to the OU leadership team. The interviews will premiere on OU's YouTube channel on Friday, November 6, 2020 at noon.

These esteemed scholars come to campus at a pivotal time in Oakland University’s history. In recent years, the university has welcomed its ambitious and visionary president, Dr. Ora Hirsch Pescovitz; updated the university’s mission, vision and goals; as well as done considerable work to refine the values the community embraces as an institution of higher learning.

At the same time, and like many public universities across the state and the nation, OU faces considerable challenges that range from limited financial support to rapidly advancing technology that is virtually reinventing the way higher education is delivered.

An important goal of the video interviews is to learn about how Boruff-Jones and Randall will approach both challenges and opportunities in their own ways.
